Does REVIAN work on areas of the scalp with scarring alopecia / cicatricial alopecia / frontal fibrosing alopecia?
REVIAN is specifically indicated to treat pattern hair loss (also known as androgenetic alopecia, a genetically-inherited type of hair loss) in men and women. There is no known hair loss treatment that will work for everyone. We're unable to claim that REVIAN will work to treat any other hair loss aside from the cleared indications. However, it is known and clinically proven that red light therapy and specifically nitric oxide release helps reduce inflammation, increases blood flow , and re-activates the scalp helping hair follicles renew.
Since these effects are related to scarring and inflammation, using REVIAN should provide a better environment for your hair growth. However, we always recommend consulting with your physician to determine if red light therapy is a safe treatment given your specific cause of hair loss.
