Can I treat with hair extensions?
The light from the REVIAN cap has been tested and confirmed to penetrate hair follicles, but if there is very thick hair or any other obstruction between the LEDs and your scalp, the light will be deflected and blocked. However, the light will penetrate thinner hair.
If there are specific areas of your scalp that you want to treat, we recommended you part or style your hair prior to treatment in such a way that the light can best reach those areas of your scalp. You may also treat while there is product in your hair, as long as the product does not block the light from reaching your scalp either by contaminating the lens inside the cap, or by obstructing the light while applied to your scalp.
Additionally, the REVIAN cap does not emit UV light, which can cause color fading. Rather, it uses precision LEDs emitting light at 620nm and 660nm wavelengths, which are non-harmful and non-polluting.
We also recommend that you contact the hair extension manufacturer directly to confirm that LED lights (not lasers) will not damage the extensions and will not be affected by the low amount of radiant heat generated by the cap.
